Suryavanshi is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language action film [5][6] written and directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Pictures, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. The fourth installment of Shetty's Cop Universe, it stars Akshay Kumar in the title role of ATS chief DCP Veer Suryavanshi alongside Katrina Kaif, with Ajay Devgan and Ranveer Singh also returning as Singham and Simba. . The film stars Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Nikitan Dhir, Sikandar Kher, Abhimanyu Singh and Kumud Mishra as the antagonists while Javed Jaffrey, Vivaan Bhatina and Niharika Raizada play supporting roles.
Kumar's role was announced at the end of Simmba (2018) which served as an introduction to the character.
Suryavanshi was initially scheduled to release on 24 March 2020, and then the 2021 release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Conspiracy
During the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Veer "Surya" Suryavanshi loses his parents which motivates him to become an ATS officer. Years later, Bilal Ahmed, the mastermind behind the blasts, takes refuge in POK with the dreaded terrorist Umar Hafeez, as he begins planning more such attacks. After the 26/11 attacks, Omar's son Riyaz Hafeez has created a sleeper cell network of 40 terrorists with the aim of carrying out more bombings, which the Indians are revealing. Surya is now the DCP and ATS chief where he plans the operation in Jaisalmer, and arranges to kidnap Riaz who was hiding his identity.
Joint CP and senior Surya officer Kabir Shroff, who was the only person who was able to solve the case completely, reveals that about one tonne of RDX was brought into India, of which 400 kg in 1993. Later, John is captured in Bangkok after a long chase between him and Surya, who learns that Bomb was building another member of the sleeper cell. Usmani and the arrested Surya plan to pretend to torture Usmani's daughters so that he will confess. Usmani finally reveals that Riaz will meet him at his assistant Rafiq's residence. A suicide bomb planted there kills Osmani, whose elder daughter helps identify the bomb maker, Mukhtar Ansari, who is hiding in Shivgarh. Surya sends Inspector Sangram "Simba" Bhallau to arrest him.
Simba tells Surya that 7 bombs are to be planted at 7 locations in Mumbai. Riaz escapes, and discovers that the ATS headquarters will also be bombed.
